oh how he loves us

Boyd and I went downtown this morning.

We found our friend Mr. Jule, and were thankful to feed him and wish him a Happy Thanksgiving.

We fed this man. I later saw him sitting on the side of the road, brushing his beard with a toothbrush and smiling. You can't help but love them.

Downtown was a busy place this morning. This may not make much sense, but this is where Jesus is. I feel closer to Him when I am around the needy, than anywhere else I have ever been.

We fed two people in these tents. They were so nice. They looked like they could have been any average person you passed on the streets, except they don't have a home to go to at night. Yes, maybe they've made some really poor choices in their lives, but that is not for me to judge. Who of us has not made bad choices?
There but for the grace of God go I.

Isn't she beautiful.

We fed another man who had just gotten off the bus. He was reluctant to take the food. I am sure I would be too if some stranger pulled up and handed me something out of the window. Before we could pull away, he had a sandwich out and was eating. Knowing he was that hungry made me happy that we were there at the right time. I hope we gave him a tiny bit of happiness & love today, because he seemed so sad and so lost.

We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked, and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty.
