This morning I decided I would ask Boyd what he wanted to do today for fun, and I would go with it, no matter what he said.
His first 2 choices were QT and Walmart.
Good thing mommies can change their minds.
So then he decided on McDonald's, and we went, and it was actually nice. Not too crowded or loud. He played hard for 2 hours.
We came home and rested and watched some tv.
Boyd ran in his room and got his head lamp.
My new favorite picture of Boyd.

Then we played outside.
I love messy hair and pb&j stained faces.
Then he said no more, and covered his face,
with his cute little chubby dimpled hands.

Today I popped some popcorn to go with my coke zero.
This is cheddar jalapeno.
The spicy one I had the other day was Valentina hot sauce flavored.
love.

It was a good, ordinary day. I used to think each day had to be some wild adventure, but I've learned from several of you to cherish these ordinary days the most. Thank you for teaching me that.

good night.

Lately Boyd has been playing next door, in the backyard, with a four year old, from about 4 - 5 pm. I sit in my garage alone, with my coke zero, and I veg out. {Is that weird?}. I really enjoy this hour. A lot. When he is done playing next door, we play with the other big kids out front for about 30 more minutes.

As always, such precious pictures of Boyd!
LOVE the hands picture! Too cute! I, too, used to think everyday had to be an adventure and discovered the every day little things are just as fun...if not better than the adventures ;-) LOVE your blog!
that first photo with the head lamp is priceless, i love it!! and lucky you to get that afternoon hour to yourself while boyd has a great time next door - i say enjoy every minute!!
You are right! That photo with the headlamp is priceless!!
Love Boyd's picture, too funny!!
We went to the McDonalds at Rufe Snow and N. Tarrant earlier this week and we were the only kids there!!!
I LOVE hand dimples... I know I have blogged that a few times, but I do!! <3
Maddox has a head lamp too... however, his mommy has been know to wear it so that she can read in bed until 2:00am as well!
Your popcorn looks delish... I don't eat a lot of popcorn, but I should! However, mine would either be full of butter and salt, or this marshmallow kind that my mom makes... so on 2nd thought, maybe I shouldn't?!!
How awesome that Boyd has a neighbor friend that he can play with....and you get some nice quiet alone time! Enjoy it! Your popcorn looks good....I love the spicy kind too! Did you buy it that way, or do you add your own stuff to it? I love popcorn...but I always put so much salt on it that I wake up the next morning and my hands look like big sausages! And not the cute little kind like Boyd has either!
haha- LOVE his thick hair and chubby fingers!!!
I would LOVE for my girls to play with the neighbors for an hour each day- I can imagine how nice that is for you :)
....and the headlamp picture..... LOVE it!
Gorgeous photos! He looks so cute with the headlamp! :)

OMG Boyd is precious! you are so lucky!!!!! It does sound like a FAB day and now you gave me a perfect idea for a snack later. I don't have kids but I do have some routines with my fur kids. For example, we always take a walk at 3pm (when I'm not working) and have 3 oclock snack after the walk. Even when they stay with their grandparents and aunt in Las Vegas, they continue that routine for us. My boys expect 3 o'clock snack. They get super excited when I am opening the door, noticeably than when we go on our other walks. Anyway, having some hot and spicy popcorn with my coke zero ( i drink the vanilla coke zero). Have a great weekend!
I think ordinary days are the absolute BEST.
I wish my kids had great neighbors to play with from 4-5. I want to veg. lol.
have a good night Nicolle! we are off to my moms house to celebrate my brothers birthday tonight.
OMGoodness...I love, love, love that crazy sweaty/crunchy hair. So adorable!
I am rolling!! Those top 3 pics of Boyd just may be my all time faves!!!
that hour is essential! That's my commute home from work, I just unwind my thoughts. Re-vamping for shift two of my day, the Momma part.
I have GOT to get my hands on come cheddar jalapeno popcorn!
