breathing room

Our Christmas is finally back in the attic. I have the front living room back to normal. It's my breathing space in the house. It's not a fancy room, but a comfortable room with things that make me happy. I'm thinking this couch could use some colorful pillows, or maybe we could use a new couch. And, this is not even the broken one I was telling you about a while back. I do like this one though, because it is comfy, and simple.

Books and art and memories from places we've been.

Things that make me smile.

Shells from beautiful beaches. I love Texas, but looking at them makes me wish we weren't so land locked here in Fort Worth. And, it's been a few months since my last adventure, and I'm feeling a trip coming on, maybe.

When Boyd used to nap, I would sit in this room and read, or nap, or just sit in silence. It's still my favorite place to be when I am home alone.

Speaking of breathing room, last night Kevin realized that I needed some alone time. So today I am running away, to do whatever I want, alone. At this stage in my life, alone time is the best gift I can receive. So, my mind is racing with wild and crazy things like the bookstore and Central Market. :) I will let you know what I did today.

Happy Sunday.

Everyone needs a room like that to go to and be alone and refresh! I love your books on places to visit! Good places! I have a couple of rooms in the house that I go to for quiet time. My sewing room, and the living room! Have a wonderful day of "alone time" today!

You are so funny!!

I only stick with Yoga, because it is my guaranteed hour alone!! I am really not a fan of all of the stretching involved!

Enjoy your day!!

[oh, I just bought new pillows for my couch at Marshals... cheap and cute-- but I am not certain they are "perfect", you know?!]

I saw your book on Bermuda. I've been twice and loved it. I don't feel like I have a quiet room just yet, but I'm getting there. And smiled when I saw you Coke Zero. It's my afternoon drink, coffee in the morning.
Have a great week,
Dana

You're so lucky to have such a calm room to relax in. My house is missing this and it's driving me crazy. Have fun on your alone day. :) Thank you so much for your comment too on my "Trusting" post.

Oh, it makes me so happy to know that you were able to sneak in some "Me" time today! I can't wait to read what you were up to. Hopefully you took some pictures. :)

I love the pictures of your "breathing room" and quiet space. Every girl needs somewhere she can escape to do anything or everything, something or nothing. It's so important for our peace of mind! Your space looks so inviting!

Hope you had a lovely weekend, friend. xoxo

You're couch looks comfy. I was at Pier1 a while back and they had a whole wall of pillows. I don't really have a quiet room to get away too. I think because your room is filled with things that have special meaning to you...it makes it all the more better.

Friends certainly are forever! :)

Here's another thing you can add to "our list"...shells. Yep. I have them from every beach we've visited. (And, we got a ton of sand dollars in Pensacola!) I keep most of our collection in two really large margarita glasses.
