friday and a coffee question

I know. I talk about coffee on here, a lot. I just love it. I'm embarrassed to say that I just now changed the water filter {not to be confused with the paper coffee filter} in our coffee maker. We've had this coffee maker for a few years now. The directions say change it every 60 days. Oops. Our machine was also having a hard time grinding whole beans, so I cleared out the chute, and magically it works now. I actually got the directions out this morning and read them. I guess I need to pay more attention.

I love coffee beans, and am glad our coffee maker has a built-in grinder. That does not mean that I don't like it pre-ground too, because I definitely do. We have been gifted many bags of coffee, and we love it all.

I never drank coffee until after I had Boyd. I believe I had one cup before that, my entire life. A friend said to me once, you are gonna need some coffee after that baby is born. She was right.

So my question is, do you store your coffee in the fridge/freezer? I started doing this, but now I'm hearing just a cool, dry place is better. What do you think? I know this is not earth shattering, but I just had to ask.

I wanted a few pictures of Boyd, so we went outside. He was doing something he shouldn't have been and I said {yelled}, stop that right now. This is the look I got, with the arms sticking out. Like I should have been scared or something. Sorry Boyd, your mama is not scared.

I got a couple of smiles, then he saw a beetle, and it was all over.

These are Boyd's favorite snack lately. He doesn't eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, so I am happy he likes these so much.

Boyd's great grandma sent him subscriptions to these magazines, and he loves them. Thank you grandma.

It's gorgeous today in Texas, high 70s. We are headed out to play.

have a good weekend.

I am a coffee lover too. Luckily for me, I have a sweet friend ( my nephew's girlfrind) who works at Starbucks and often gives me coffee beans. I have a Cuisinart Grind N Brew and love it. Which reminds me, we need to change the filter too!!! I store my beans in a canister, right there next to my coffee machine. I use it up so fast, that I never worry about it going bad!!!
Enjoy your playing with that darling boy of yours. Oh Boyd, you do make the cutest faces!!!

You can store it either place. It is a special package and you want it to last a LONG time, throw some in the freezer. I know someone that has had it in the freezer for 3 years and pulls out enough to grind on special occasions. that is a long time but she says it tastes just fine. Otherwise, I wouldn't really worry much about it.
I will have to try those, I have seem them a few times. HG doesn't eat fruit but bananas and strawberries. I bought those in applesauce and I eat them, not her.

I just leave them in the cupboard. But not sure if this is the "right" way to store them. I can't believe you didn't drink coffee before Boyd. I started at University and then hit it into high gear once I started teaching. Oh those poor kids. Teacher coffee breath is the worst!

Boyd is too funny...I love how you're able to capture so many of his expressions with your camera!
No help here as far as coffee goes! I have only ever tried it a few times...trying to get myself to like it, but I just don't! Now, give me a Starbucks Frappicino and I will take that anyday!

I am not the person to ask... I got a Keurig last Christmas and I just don't like it. I even tried buying my own coffee and bought the re-usable k-cup. It's still gross. :/
Coffee prepared by someone else tastes worlds better... but cost so much that I don't get it all that often!

Love Boyd's faces... we just got back from the park. It was a good 2 hours of play but Maddox is exhausted and being a pill now!

I wish I was a coffee drinker. It also looks so good on cold days. And I insist on carrying Jose's Starbucks cup if we're out on cold days to keep my hands warm. I've tried it. Maybe I just haven't found one I like. I'm the same way with wine. I really wish I liked it. I'm an unrefined soda drinker. Sad.

I never drank coffee until last year & it has to be filled with a flavored creamer! If you can believe it, I've never been to a Starbucks either! Ha! Right now I'm into drinking no sugar, no carb energy drinks from the dollar store!!!

Love the first pick of Boyd! That face is too cute!!!

Oooh. I love his scary face!

I keep saying (in my head)..love you more than coffee...not! Thank you for that.

I wanted #3 to like those fruit things (just because they look so European) but she wouldn't have anything to do with them.

Can't help ya with the coffee question sorry ;o)

Those smiling pics of Boyd make me smile too. He's such a cutie.

It's -1 (wind chill) here right now. We got a few inches of snow this morning. Blah.

We also uuse ours up too fast to bother with long-term storage. But in the past we have kept it in the freezer, after it was opened. Can't say if it made a difference either way.

Lately I've been hooked on Hawaiian kona blend.

We do cool dry here. I have heard that the moisture from the fridge/freezer are not good. I became a coffee drinker after the birth of my children too!

I do refrigerator but now you have me thinking...
I started drinking coffee about 5 years ago when I started a bible study at my house. I bought a coffee pot and my girlfriends showed me how to make a cup. I was hooked! I am still working on converting my hubby though!

Wasn't it beautiful yesterday??!!
