my sweet friend staci sent me this book, and i started it last night.
sparkly green earrings, by melanie shankle.
i love it. i think if you are a mama or you are going to be one, you'd love it too.
i can really relate to this author, and the fact that her husband loves nascar and ted nugent kind of makes us soul sisters.
i especially love this in the introduction...
and that's the thing about motherhood. it's not like anything you imagine when you're eight years old and playing with your baby dolls and dreaming of the day you will have five children and name them candy, andy, randy, sandy and mandy. or was that just me?
can you relate? i know i can.
i had the list of children's names, and i just knew it would be the dreamiest, easiest job in the world.
little did i know.

boyd and i set out yesterday with a list of things to do.
{i'm still tackling that big to do list, but it's getting smaller}.
i stopped {went out of my way} for coffee first.
i was in need of a couple of texas gifts, so we headed to the stockyards.
we found what we were looking for, and then we went to love shack for lunch.

my burger had a quail egg on it, and it was delicious.
i have to admit, i am a sucker for their packaging.
we ate, and left a little graffiti.

this morning was a coffee date with my sweetest friend megan, and i'm so glad we had a bit of free time to meet. i have had to reschedule a few times. story of my life lately. i have really forgiving and gracious friends, and they teach me to be a better friend.
i think we are all trying to do our best most days, and yet i forget that way too often.
this morning was good for my soul.

One of these days I am going to try some of the fabulous places you visit. I have never had a quail egg burger, but something tells me I am missing out!
I am so thankful for those hours this morning. You are a treasure! And don't ever feel bad about rescheduling with me...just remember that time that I stood you up at Central Market!
Happy that grandparents day was fun {love the pic too} and I love your new mama yard art. Treats from our mamas are so fun, aren't they?
