good morning.
it's 8:23 am, and my sweet child is still asleep, which is nothing short of a miracle. i guess the last couple of weeks of no sleep and being sick have caught up with him. in fact, he slept in yesterday as well. ahhh, makes me happy. and he seems to be over his scared of everything phase, for the most part. i must always remember that phases with kids, although they might be hard and intense, usually pass quickly. you sure don't remember that in the moment though.
i have already had coffee, opened a window, lit a candle, and done the dishes that were leftover from last night.

friday we split this jumbo cupcake. {and it was horrible}, but it was still pretty. so we each had a bite, and in the garbage it went. and that's life.
saturday i drove over near dallas, and spent the day with one of my sweetest friends, jodi. we've been friends for about 25 years, i believe. her house is adorable, and it made me want to come home and redecorate. she treated me to lunch and we shared delicious fajitas, then we had the best brazilian coffee at her house, kicked our feet up on her sofa, and talked. i love a friendship like that, so true and so real and so comfortable. jodi makes my life more beautiful, and i just love her. thank you for a fun day.
i drove home late in the day, storms all around me, and a gorgeous sky.
and, i also came home to this sweet little face, minus his curls.
happy sunday.
love,
nicolle

I want to spend a relaxing Saturday with you!!!!! Glad Boyd is sleeping better. Oh and I'm glad I'm not the only one who leaves dishes once in a while.
we had an open the windows kind of weekend and they are my favorite!!!:)
and those kind of friendships are my favorite too.
glad you had that day from the coffee to the stormy (but safe!) ride home.
and boyd minus curls.....!!!!:))
have a happy day nicolle
I'm going to be honest... I have an irrational fear of buying cupcakes. I seem to have terrible luck with either them being too dry, or take too much like Walmart icing... or just gag... and i hate to waste money!
(I know it is dumb!)
I often crave wedding cake, and think, "I wonder where Nicolle would go for one that tastes like that?"
I miss the Red Jet truck!
How fun to have a friend day. She sounds lovely. I know you closed your comments, but I love your post about serving at the mission. You are a beautiful person Nicolle. I know you don't want to hear that, so I will give the glory to God. He is doing an amazing thing through your acts of service and teaching us all so much!
