friday was a good day

boyd's first field day.

acting goofy.

having a ball.

 

boyd loves hard.

he loves everyone.

i hope he is always this way.

when field day was over, i checked boyd out of school early.

we drove down to see my mom.

she organized a yarn bombing on the old historic town square where they live.

it was so neat to see.

boyd and i even helped out a little...

when i wasn't taking pictures, or telling him not to sit in the bird poop or to put down those scissors.

you know the drill.

yarn bombings are so cool.

they are considered removable graffiti. 

they are usually done at night, anonymously,

but my mom and her knitting group asked permission to do this one, 

because of the location.

when we went back to my mom's house,
boyd drew a chalk picture of himself doing a yard bombing.
love it.

 kevin started the smoker last night, and put a brisket on.

i woke up several times to the amazing smell, overnight.
today we will have brisket with beans, cole slaw, macaroni salad and potato salad.
we're taking some to our family friend randy, who is still in the hospital.
bless his heart, he needs to get better. we love him.
