friends, fall and soccer

a couple of weekends ago we went to texas motor speedway,

to see the red bull air races.

they race all over the world, with only two stops in the usa.

it was fun, and crazy hot.
we snuck snacks in, paid entirely too much for cold drinks,
and kept cool by pouring water over our heads,
hiding under the stands as often as we could, and using ice towels that they were handing out. 

lala and papa went with us on saturday, and some family friends were there on sunday.

i'm glad we went. it was a pretty cool thing to see.

boyd has already been in school for 3 full weeks now.

the first couple of weeks were a whirlwind of getting back in the swing of things.

last week i was able to have coffee and lunch with two good friends.

i'd kind of gotten in a little slump and this is just what i needed to pull myself out.

girlfriends are good for the soul.

we were given a preview of fall over this past weekend.

my most favorite time of year.

i truly think about it all summer long.

so i put out a few pumpkins, lit a pumpkin candle, and opened a few windows.
but in true texas fashion, we had the a/c back on after a couple of days.

 our weekend was also full of football in the street, more football on the tv, 

coffee,
bratwurst on the grill, and friends/neighbors in and out of our house all weekend. 

i loved it.

boyd is signed up for a quick season of soccer.

he had practice on saturday and his first game last night.

he is a sweating machine. he played his heart out. and he was so tired.

they didn't win, but they sure did fight hard for that ball.

i'm off to cook up a new recipe.
