hello.

i'd love to be on here more often, but life seems to speed up as i get older, not slow down.
so many good things over the last month, along with a really sick mama that needed a visit to urgent care and a shot and medicine. kevin found me on the couch one morning crying and moaning. i was miserable. i had strep, an ear infection and a sinus infection. let me tell you though, family and friends sure did love on me when i was down, and i can't say thank you enough.
it gave me a new perspective on loving on people when they are down.
life lessons are funny that way.

this sweet boy.
basketball picture day.

we get notes like this from boyd often.
he brings them home from school.
they are treasures to my heart.

and let me tell you, he's been up to no good.
he is a toot. he has my dad written all over him. full of mischief. and i couldn't love him more.
we decorated a shirt with 100 shapes, for the hundredth day of school.

and when he came home, there were about 50 shapes left on his shirt...
along with this note.

and i love what several people said to me, including my grandma...
aren't you glad he's normal?!
yes, i am. we got a big laugh out of this. many laughs in fact. typical boy, all the way around.
i did explain to him that he can't do this and that he really can't disrupt the class,
but come on. i mean, drawing butts has got to be the best thing ever.
as i tucked him in that night i said no more drawing butts at school, and he got this devilish grin on his face and said,
mom you know it was pretty funny.
i had to exit his room immediately, so he wouldn't see me laughing.

i took this picture of boyd the next morning, before school.
would you trust this face?
yeah, neither would i.

kevin said i really shouldn't say much more about the butt thing,
it just brings it to boyd's attention more,
but i did tell him if he felt the need to draw them, do it at home.
so he did, in the driveway, that's a yellow butt right there.
doesn't really look like one, but he says it is, and i believe him.
{this all begs the question though, how in the world did the teacher recognize this as a butt}?!

it's been a good month of catching up with friends, spending time with family,
and lots of good coffee.

kevin took boyd up to school the other night, for a book fair and academic carnival.
boyd is one lucky boy. kevin bought him some fun books and they had a good time together.
they've been doing a lot of baseball practice to get ready for the spring season,
and many nights on the ps3.
i'm so thankful for the bond that they have.
kevin is an amazing dad, and good dads are awesome.

i went up to boyd's school for his valentine's party.
it was a fun day, and it was a crazy day.

they decorated sacks in the classroom the day before, for all of their cards.
boyd came home with a haul.
it was a good day for him.

another treasure.
the sweetest valentine ever.

i hope that you have been loved on well this month.

love,
nicolle

Oh my gosh, I am so glad that I get to follow your goings on with IG. I have laughed, and laughed!!! That sweet little boy of yours is just the perfect mix, or sweet, funny, rough and tumble, all American boy! I love the things he says and does. I love his curiosity. I love that he when he is a little bit naughty, it is all in the sweet innocence of childhood. He is doll. You are one lucky Mama! Who wants boring?
Love and miss you,
Kris
