goodbye month of june

well, there went june.

it's been good and trying and full of laughs and moments of frustration.

and, i'm kind of freaking out that rows and rows of backpacks are already in the stores,
for the next school year. that's just wrong.
in no particular order, we've been...swimming,
eating lots of fruit and popsicles,
spending the best days with friends,
enjoying good time with family,
spraying the bug spray,
hanging the bathing suits out to dry,
catching fish,
losing teeth,
going to the summer races,
and being thankful for summer, even on the days that i want school to start again.
yes, i said it.
{even though a few rows up i complained about backpacks. whatever}.

pho soup to finish off a summer cold. it did the trick.

we've done lots of swimming at memaw's pool,
and you'll just have to excuse the mom visor and the flyaway hair.

the summer races at texas motor speedway.

we made another visit to our favorite pig, at the tree farm right behind our house.

another summer at the waterpark.
i think i'm getting too old for this,
but boyd sure does love it.

friends in the backyard, and popsicles.

boyd got to meet texas rangers baseball player elvis andrus,
and get his autograph.
it was a pretty cool experience for him.

bowling with dear sweet friends, from the sweetest family on earth.

we have a male tooth fairy at our house,
and he'd had a crazy week at his other job,
which led him to miss coming for a night, and another,
but he made it the third morning, and all was well.
in all fairness, i'm not sure why the female tooth fairy doesn't visit here,
she could definitely help out,
but i love that ours is a male.

these boys together.
every summer.
i have loved watching them grow up together,
and i love their mama, one of my best friends, who i've known since i was 2.
she has kept me going, inspired me, consoled me,
and joined forces with me in this crazy life.

kevin's birthday, then father's day.
it was a good weekend.
we sure do love you dear.
we didn't have a lot planned,
and i really loved every second of everything that we did together.

a day in dallas with two friends, suzette and megan, soul friends that i love,
and if i said much more i would never stop,
so i'll leave the memories of this day in my heart.
we laughed, we cried, we prayed. 
god brings friends together in the coolest ways, and i'm so thankful and amazed by his work.

kevin took boyd fishing, and boyd caught his first fish.
it was a big one!

in brownie batter heaven.

 we spent some fun time at my mom and stepdad's,
and got to see grandma too.
she was busy at work the day we dropped in.
i love her and how much energy and zest she has for life.
we swam with my mom, and boyd got to hit some golf balls with papa, which made him extra happy.
and, i made us a delicious caprese salad with tomatoes and basil from my mom's garden. 

that's a wrap.
hope to be here more in july,
but that's not a promise.

thank you jesus for this life,
even when i grumble and fail you,
i know that it's a really good life.
