i turned 45,
my family and friends loved on me,
and my mama brought me the best cupcakes ever.

first day of school walk, 5th grade

this is it.
boyd's last year of elementary school.
kevin has walked him the first day every year,
and i'm so thankful to have documented it.
i love these two so much.
have a great year bubba.
do good and be good.

summer vacation 2018

we took a quick trip to houston/nasa and galveston beach at the end of the summer.
boyd loved it.
the added bonus was that our FL family joined us.
good, good memories.

grandmas are special

on june 27th, i lost my last grandparent, patricia ann haygood, she was 89.

on june 28th, kevin lost his last grandparent, mary jane patrick, she was 94.

they passed 6 hours apart.
i am blessed to have spent so much time with my grandma in my life,
and especially at the end of her life.
kevin was with his grandma when she passed away.
i can't even write this yet without tears,
it was one of the hardest times of our lives.
so much good happened this summer, but this was a significant part of our summer.
it might sound strange to say, but there were some beautiful and sacred times surrounding their deaths...but my heart is still breaking and missing these two like crazy. 
we are ever grateful for the influence of these two grandmas in our lives.
we lost so much this summer, but we carry on their legacy.
what a legacy.

today, you are 10

boyd had a pizza/arcade/slumber party the weekend before his birthday.
it was loud, the boys had a blast, there was NO slumber.
we celebrated with family before boyd's friends arrived.
i think it was a great 10th birthday for boyd.

today.
10 years old.
time hasn't only flown, it has given up whiplash.
how are you 10 sweet boy?
we love you so much.

you love every single sport out there,
you love your friends fiercely,
you love video games and roller blading and your doggie quinn,
you are a great student at school,
and a gift from God to our family.

up to date

on october 3, 2017, we lost our dear friend steve.
we will miss him forever. 

it was good to have family together though.

we had the fall nascar races, and the blue angels flew over while we set up camp.
kevin and i also celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary. 

halloween 2017. football player, 2 years in a row. we like easy!
