kevin lost a friend, and traveled to florida the week before christmas to say goodbye.
sad things don't take a pause just because the holidays are here.
then he caught a cold, and 99% of our family that lives here were not home for the holidays, which is totally fine, but it was hard, if i'm being honest.
so we made the most of it, just the 3 of us, and the best part is...boyd had a wonderful christmas.
that's what matters.
we snuck in a visit with my grandma haygood on christmas evening, and that night boyd and i partied with the neighbors.
christmas had it's ups and downs this year, but i had to give myself a reality check, and realize that we still have a lot to be thankful for and happy about.
boyd blessed my heart when he told me that he told his class that jesus was much more important than gifts.

boyd decorated the tree with me, and although he had a lot of low hangers and clusters, i left them just the way they were. because, in 20 years, i will miss this.
we got a good laugh, or ten, out of this.
boyd shopped at the santa store at school for a gift for me and kevin.
and a gift for himself.

boyd and his friends were treated to a special visit from santa and friends, at our house, a few days before christmas. the grown-ups were just as excited, and all of our cheers and happiness brought out the other neighbors. definitely something we won't ever forget.
even though this holiday wasn't what i would have planned, i look back at the pictures and i see a lot of happiness and love...
i'll be back with new years,

Loving all the Christmas pics! These years are flying by. Boyd is growing up and is such a fun kid to watch through your posts! Happy new year!
I loved that Boyd shared what's most important about Christmas with his class- his parents must be doing something right! ;) Looks like a happy Christmas at your house!
