they are like something you'd get at an amazing soul food restaurant.
i've made them at least 4 times in the last few months.
my store stopped carrying the 101 oz green bean cans which is what she uses and i used once,
so i buy a 50 oz plus a 28 oz can, and this makes plenty with some good leftovers as well.
i slightly drain some liquid, then throw the beans and the rest of the liquid into a large crockpot,
with 1/2 package of uncooked bacon chopped up, salt and pepper.
cover and cook on low for 8 hours, stirring occasionally.
you have to go at least 8 hours though, that's the magic number.
i've served these with ham steaks and with chicken, but really they'd go with anything.
